Whenever I think on this subject I'm always reminded of a scene from Six Feet Under. Nate, the main character, falls asleep and has a bevy of dreams where in each he resides in an alternate universe. He's still the same person, but each universe is in the middle of a different scenario. By this principle the fact that I am typing this in this universe would mean that I am doing something completely "irrelevant" in another; all the while existing simultaneously. The Hindus believe that the world and the universe is an acting or playing out of the Brahman. The Multiverse would be that act on a much grander scale.
