Richard Feynman: The Key to Science

Feynman Chaser - The Key to Science

http://youtu.be/b240PGCMwV0

Richard Feynman was the brand of educator that vividly illustrated the natural elements of the world verbally to millions. As one of the globes most renowned physicists in history, he's helped in advancements in public understanding of QED (quantum electrodynamics) as well as assisting with the development of the atomic bomb. Feynman had the ability to convey a perspective of the natural world with a veracity and clarity that would keep even the most ignorant of scientific methods enthralled in a lecture. It is because of Feynman, along with other keynote scientists of the era, that the general public were able to acquire and maintain an understanding of scientific methods and utilize them in their daily activities.

ROA

ROA in The Gambia (Wide Open Walls 2011)

http://youtu.be/oMcXYtLrj4I

http://unurth.com/index/filter/ROA

It seems as if ROA is on a world wide mission to bring larger than life animal portraits to the street. With an immense body of work all over the globe, he's managed to make the viewer feel small; as though we were the ants and the characters were the dominant species. He utilizes spray paint and rollers in his compositions and the results are the astounding depictions seen in various neighborhoods all over. Hailing from Belgium, ROA has made a name for himself while remaining somewhat of an enigma in the street art realm. It takes tremendous gall to paint giraffes in Brazilian favelas with a straight face.

VANS the OMEGA

Anyone who's familiar with the Ironlak family will have definitely heard of this duo. SOFLES seems to play with the paint with the end result being a fine example of order out of chaos. His characters are playful, yet his technique is deadly serious. VANS, on the other hand, throws that old school blade letter style in your face in a way that's rarely done. His thorough line work leads your eye around well balanced pieces with interesting color scheme execution. In the video above the two team up in Australia to bang out another burner for the Ironlak consortium. Technique prevails as another wall bites the dust under the reign of the 'Lak.

Outrage - Shutdown - Inneractive Music (2004) by Outrage Backlash

As Hip Hop is to the US, Drum and Bass is the the UK. Spawning from youth culture, inner city street life, and pure adrenaline both genres purvey the nonverbal vibrations of the urban core. Outrage represents the sound to the note in this synapse singeing masterpiece. With it's off centered breaks, rumbling bassline, and eerie sounds, Shut Down is a timeless smasher. There are very few producers out there who can emulate the broken beat sound with such a bite as Outrage. This tune sets the tone for the script of the next William Peter Blatty book remake. Watch your bassbins.

Louis C.K.

Louis C.K. Hates Twitter

http://www.louisck.net/

If you ask me, Louis C.K. is one of the funniest comedians doing their job at the moment. The video above is one of his appearances on Conan O'briens show talking about how distracted a lot of people are by social media hubs like Twitter. A finer approach toward conveying the truth, there is not. Louis has the uncanny ability to lead an audience on a path that points toward a certain truth in a manner that blatantly explains the absurd. Any comedian that can justify punching their dog in the face has some serious talent. Since 1984 he's done numerous stand up shows and starred in the HBO sitcom Lucky Louie. It's been said that there is truth in jest; Louis C.K. hands you that truth with a crazy straw.

Waking Life 2001 (film)

Waking Life (2001)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uk2DeTet98o

Waking Life is a film that I would describe as being a series of extremely interesting riddles for existentialists. While the main character seems to be simultaneously waking from and falling into a pattern of unconventional dreams, the film brings forth various metaphysical questions. Ranging from liminal experiences, human laziness, and the idea of time, there are many topics that are touched upon that you wouldn't usually hear in a conversation anywhere else. All of this adds to the overall dream like quality of the film, making the conversations seem all the more intriguing. Although one can't walk away without questioning their own perception of the world after considering the ideas purveyed in this film.

J. Rocc - Stay Fresh 12" EP

"Stay Fresh" filmed by Mayer Hawthorne

One can only hope that the remainder of the beats on the LP are just as good of a quality as the one in the promotional video above. A chilling, sinister vibe runs through your veins as you witness J.Rocc being who he is; a quirky, eccentric individual who just happens to be a world class dj. His ventures with the World Famous Beat Junkies gained him outstanding notoriety in the underground hip hop realm. He's recently teamed up with Peanut Butter Wolf, Madlib, Mayer Hawthorne, and the rest of the Stones Throw camp on what some would call the most out there musical journeys in history. J.Rocc is well known for his tricks on the turntables as well as being an extremely versed MC, so I'd make sure not to sleep on this album.
